If we want to understand the reasons behind Firefox success we have to find the origins of the browser. During, September 2002 the first version of the browser was released to the public called Phoenix. The browser was based on Gecko engine from Mozilla Suite. After, a number of releases the name was changed to Firebird but due to a legal dispute it was changed again to Firefox. This browser has received a great deal of publicity as an alternative browser to Internet Explorer.

Making The Move From Microsoft Internet Explorer To Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Firefox was the solution to so many problems I encountered with Microsoft Internet Explorer. I had an effective browser that dealt with annoying pop-ups and spyware. The best of all was that it performed much better than its counterpart. On a security side you had a better solution than Internet Explorer. Firefox is the result of an open source project and as all of you know, the open source community provides solutions to the vulnerabilities of its software much faster than Microsoft does for Internet Explorer.

The internet browser market has long been dominated by Internet Explorer, but a new kid on the block — Firefox — is making strong inroads against the Microsoft product’s dominance. To date, over 75 million copies of Firefox have been downloaded by users around the world. Here are some reasons why you should replace Explorer with Firefox.
1. No Pop Ups. Unlike Explorer, Firefox has a nifty pop up blocker in place. No more garbage to fill your screen as you search the internet with Firefox. Can’t say the same for Explorer, however.

It was developed by the Mozilla Corporation. But in the development of Mozilla Firefox it was not only the Mozilla Corporation that was involved in the development stage of the Mozilla Web browser but also there were some external distributors that were involved in this project. The Web browser is nothing but a software application. This software application enables the user to display and also interact with the text, images, and also some information that is available on the web pages. These web pages can be from the local network or from the World Wide Web. Fx or fx is the official abbreviation of Firefox. FF is the popular abbreviation of Mozilla Firefox. The main aim of the Mozilla browser was to surf the web pages. They aimed for providing the maximum possible browsing information.
